Markita & Michael have been together for five years, going on six; the couple got engaged ten months ago. They both met in the 7th grade; however, started getting more acquainted with one another in their first year of college.
The couples entry:
Hi my name is Markita and my fiancés name is Michael. We would love to win a wedding cake for our special day. Your company makes such breathtaking cakes and this would be the diamond to the top of our cake.
Here is a little story on how we met, started dating, and are now engaged and getting married. We have known each other since seventh grade year 2002. We started off as friends and as the years went on when we got into high school our parents and friends would tease us that we liked each other. We would just laugh and tell them they were crazy. I remember to this day my fiancé Mike was always trying to play footsies with me and try to hold my hand in math class, but we would laugh it off and continued to stay good friends throughout the years.
We graduated in 2008 and ended up going to the same college together. As fate had it, we had almost every college class together and would sit next to each other as we stayed really close friends. One semester passed and during our second semester, our psychology teacher stopped class because we were being too loud and embarrassed us in front of the whole class. She started off by saying, “are you two a couple”. We both looked at each other and started laughing and shook our heads saying no never. She replied well I have a feeling one day you to our going to get married. We looked at her like she was crazy and thought that was the highlight of our day.
Weeks went on and we learned our lesson about talking in her class. We no longer wanted to be the center of attention so we decided it was best to write notes to each other instead. I still remember to this day Mrs. Robinson was talking about the dream cycle and this day was a little different than any of the rest.
My day started off with Mike texting me to make sure I was going to class. 
I responded with of course and we started passing notes like any other class once class started. The conversation started off like normal with how was your morning, etc. I was putting on chapstick and Mike saw me; however, before you know it he slipped me the note saying can I have some. I said sure and handed him my chapstick as I figured it would be fine if we shared it. He responded back on the note “No from your lips,” I thought he was joking and laughed it off and replied with sure thinking he was messing around. After class ended I went off to my next class and later that evening got a text from Mike asking me again for chapstick. At this time I had a million butterflies and I was only texting him I thought he was joking the whole time and didn’t know how to respond. I continued to joke around got myself deeper into the conversation which wasn’t helping the situation. We later had math that night together and when we left he said “Do you want to go hang out”. Typically I would have jumped at the situation, but at this moment I was freaking out. He knew I wasn’t doing anything after class so I couldn’t lie and had to say yes.
The whole time we sat in the car hanging out just talking and laughing he was trying to hold my hand and set the mood, but I didn’t know what to think. I was literally going to faint. We laugh about it now, but at the time I was speechless as I knew we were just friends and that’s all. The night came to an end and I knew it was time to say goodnight. I thought I was in the clear as Mike hadn’t asked for chapstick yet; however, I think I was tricking my mind to think so anyways. My heart was racing, my palms were sweaty, I couldn’t talk, I had butterflies, the same exact way I will probably be for our wedding but in a good way, and once I gave Mike a hug bye he asked the question that I was dreading. I kept my cool and told him I thought he was joking and couldn’t stop laughing. He went in for the kiss and I freaked out and backed up. When I realized it was really happening I really gave him some chapstick and now we say that M & M really did start with a kiss and now we are soon to be Mr. and Mrs.
May she rest in peace as she has passed since then, but Mrs. Robinson definitely knew what she was talking about and I thank God for her every day because without her we never would have started writing notes to each other. As they say that marriage is when you’re marrying your best friend and we definitely are each other’s.
