December is a time when families and friends come together to rejoice and spread their holiday cheer! Christmas is a holiday that can bring out the joy and good in anyone. Parties, love, and happiness feel the cold air once December 1st comes around. It is a holiday to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but it is also a traditional holiday.

Now-a-days people think Santa Claus when they think of Christmas. Santa Claus came about around the 3rd century, his real name is St. Nicholas, he was a monk that was born in modern day Turkey. He traveled to help and save the poor and ill, soon his story spread and he was known as the protector of children.
Christmas
There many traditions that have picked up, such as, Santa Claus, the Christmas tree, making cookies, and exchanging gifts. During the holiday people will celebrate by having parties, feasts, spreading joy, giving, decorating the tree, and so much more. It is a great time to have the family over to eat a big meal and do not forget the Christmas cookies and drink egg nog!
